  • The easiest way to get to the castle will be by car, and there is a dedicated carpark nearby. Just watch out for sheep on the windy North Yorkshire lanes.

    If you are willing to car share or give a lift to guests who might need it, please could you add your details to this document.

    There are no bus routes serving the venue but the nearest train station is in Danby village, about 5 minutes drive away from the venue, or a 40 minutes, mostly uphill.

  • Our wedding is wildflower themed, so have a look at your invite card for the colours. You are welcome to wear whatever you feel comfortable getting in (there’s no formal dress code).

    The site is mainly gravel, cobbles and grass, so wear stilettos at your own risk!

    The court room, for the ceremony, is accessed by about 20 stone steps outside the building, with a hand rail running the whole way up.

  • There are a number of small inns with rooms and holiday lets near Danby. Alternatively, it is about halfway in between Whitby and Middlesbrough.

    There are weddings at Danby either side of the 18th August, so if you are needing to book somewhere to stay the night booking early will be best.

  • We’ve got a small wedding party, focused on family and close friends. If you have a plus one, you will have already been contacted about it by Josh and Michaela directly. We are not having any children at the ceremony or reception.
